FVSU Athletics

Joseph Williams serves as the Sports Information Director at Fort Valley State University, where he oversees athletic communications, digital content, media relations, and branding initiatives for the Wildcats. A graduate of Fort Valley State, Williams earned a bachelor's degree in Visual and Performing Arts and an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. Originally from Dover, Delaware, he was a multi-sport student-athlete for the Wildcats, competing in basketball and track & field while earning First-Team All-Conference honors twice in the shot put.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Williams served as the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services in Hampton, Virginia. In that role, he developed and executed marketing campaigns, created visual and digital content, and supported community engagement initiatives that increased audience interaction and program visibility. Combining his background in athletics, marketing, and visual communications, Williams is dedicated to telling the stories of Fort Valley State student-athletes and enhancing the Wildcat brand.
