Box Score ALBANY STATE DEFEATED THE LADY WILDCATS 82-55
 
FORT VALLEY, GA – The Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Lady Wildcats were hoping to pull off another win over the Lady Rams but it was not in the cards as Albany State University won 82-55 Saturday night at the HPE Complex on FVSU's campus.
 
FVSU's overall record is 4-21 and 4-12 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) while ASU improved to 14-11 overall and 10-5 in conference play.
 
Alicia Franklin led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 17-points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. She went 5-of-17 from the field, 4-of-15 from behind the three-point line, and made 3-of-4 free throws. Keaundra Cox added 11-points and two rebounds while Jalin Moye grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
 
FVSU hit just 26.7 % (16-60) of their shots from the floor, 23.1% (6-26) from behind the arc and 56.7% (17-30) at the foul line. ASU made 35.4% (29-82) of their shots, 26.2% (11-42) three-pointers and 61.9% (13-21) of their foul shots.
 
The Lady Wildcats largest lead came in the first quarter by two-points with 9:39 on the clock. ASU grabbed a 39-point lead in the fourth quarter with 3:47 left on the clock.
 
Nothing would fall for the Lady Wildcats as ASU led by 8 (11-3) in the first quarter with 3:42 on the scoreboard. The quarter ended with ASU up 13-9.
   
In the second quarter, the Lady Rams widened their lead to 28 (41-13) at the 2:37 mark and took a commanding 43-21 lead to intermission.
 
In the third quarter, Franklin's three-pointer cut the Lady Rams lead to 19 (24-43) and that would be the closest FVSU would get.
 
FVSU's next game is in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, February 17 as they play Clark Atlanta University at 2 p.m.
