Thomas Wolfe III was selected to the 2013 SIAC All-Conference 1st Team on defense and
DeRon Furr and
Chris Ward named to the SIAC All-Conference 2nd Team on defense as voted on by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Football Coaches Association.
LeRon Furr, Wolfe III and Little has also been named 2013 HBCU D2 All-Americans after their outstanding field play this season.
LeRon Furr (SR, LB, 6-3, 245) native of Columbus, GA played in 10 games for the Wildcats this season, while leading the team in tackles with 80 (33 solos), 22.5 tackles-for-loss (83 yards), 6.5 sacks (57 yards), 3 pass break-ups, 9 quarterback hurries, 3 recovered fumbles and 2 forced fumbles. Furr is ranked 1st in the NCAA in tackle-for-loss and 15th in fumbles recovered and 6th in the SIAC in tackles, 1st in tackle-for-loss, 5th in sacks, 47th pass defended, 2nd fumbles recovered and 7th in fumbles forced. For his career, he played in 21 games, rushed one time, passed twice, 3 forced fumbles, 183 tackles, 52 tackles-for-loss (187 yards) and 13 sacks (98 yards).
Thomas Wolfe III (SR, DB, 6-0, 190) from Marietta, GA appeared in 9 games this season and led the Wildcats with 8 interceptions, 2nd in punt returns with 8, one kick return, 22 tackles, 1 tackle-for-loss, 6 pass break-ups, one quarterback hurry and one forced fumble. He is ranked 1st in the SIAC in both interceptions and passes defended and 2nd in interceptions and 12th in passes defended in the NCAA. For his career, he played in 20 games, passed the ball 14 times (56 yards), one touchdown, one fumble return, 19 (114) punt returns, 4 (88) kickoff returns, had 2 forced fumbles, 52 tackles and one tackle-for-loss.
DeRon Furr (SR, LB, 6-3, 230) from Columbus, GA played in 10 games and finished 2nd on the team with 60 tackles, 11.5 (60) tackle-for-loss, 2.5 (26) sacks, 2 pass break-ups, 9 quarterback hurries, 3 forced fumbles and one safety. Furr is ranked 18th in the NCAA in forced fumbles and in the SIAC 20th in tackles, 7th tackle-for-loss, 25th in sacks and 2nf in forced fumbles. For his career, he played in 45 games, threw one pass, rushed 4 times, 5 forced fumbles, 291 tackles, 31 tackle-for-loss and 7 sacks.
Chris Ward (FR, K/P, 5-11, 230) from Macon, GA with 10 games under his belt had 69 punts for 2,568 yards and a 37.2 yard average, attempted 27 PAT's, making 20 and made 2-of-6 field goals. In the SIAC he finished the season ranked 9th in scoring (kick), 3rd in punting and 9th in field goals for a 33.3 average
Bernard Little (SR,DT, 6-2, 290) from Eatonton, GA where he played in 10 games and ended with 49 tackles, 2.5 (20) tackle-for-loss, one pass break-up, 6 quarterback hurries, one fumble recovered and 2 forced fumbles. Little finished 36th in the SIAC in tackles, 37th in sacks, and 10th in forced fumbles and 14th in the NCAA in tackle-for-loss. For his career, he played in 21 games, blocked one kick, 88 tackles, 28 (96) tackle-for-loss and 4.5 (26) sacks.
