The seventh ranked Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (26-2) received the number three seed in the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament as announced by the NCAA on Sunday, March 7, 2010. The Lady Wildcats will face the sixth seed Lady Blazers of Valdosta State University (18-8) on Friday, March 12th in the first round of the regional which will be played in Russellville, Arkansas on the campus of the tournament host, Arkansas Tech University. Tip off time for the Lady Wildcats and Lady Blazers game will be 4 p.m.(CST).
With a first round win over the Lady Blazers, the Lady Wildcats will meet the winner of the Delta State University (No. 2 seed)/Lynn University (No. 7 seed) game in the regional semifinals.
Since Arkansas Tech is hosting the women and men region tournaments, the women’s first round will take place on Friday (March 12th) with the semifinals set for Sunday (March 14th). The South Region Championship game is scheduled for Tuesday (March 16th).

Under Head Coach Lonnie Bartley, this year’s invitation to the NCAA Tournament is the 16th for the Lady Wildcats.
