The Lady Wildcats of Fort Valley State University (FVSU) concluded their regular season last night with a 69-64 win over the Tigerettes of Tuskegee University in the James Center Arena on the Tuskegee Campus. The win stretched the Lady Wildcats record setting regular season mark to 26-1 and 21-1 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play. At season end, the Lady Wildcats can now claim the best regular season record in the history of FVSU Lady Wildcats Basketball; the number one ranking in the NCAA Division II South Region; and the 8th ranking in the most recent NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll.
As attention now turns to the SIAC Tournament from March 2nd through 6th in the Frank Forbes Arena on the Morehouse College campus, the Lady Wildcats, as the number one seed, will receive a bye for first round play on Tuesday and begin tournament action on Wednesday, March 3rd at 4 p.m. With most SIAC schools still slated to play this weekend, the Lady Wildcats will not know their opponent for Wednesday’s second round match up until after the weekend.
