FVSU Athletics Goes Twitter
By: FVSU Office of Sports Information
The Fort Valley State University (FVSU) Department of Athletics is now providing its fans with new and exciting ways to follow Wildcat athletics online through Twitter, the social media outlet that has become a worldwide phenomenon.
Launched on January 8, 2010, the FVSU Twitter application will allow fans, alumni, and students to stay in constant contact with FVSU athletics and give them the opportunity to offer personal feedback, opinions and engage in dialogue about all things related to FVSU athletics.
While www.fvsusports.com.continues to be the primary source for information about FVSU athletics, Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to become more interactive by sending and reading other users’ updates, known as tweets, which are text-based posts.
According to FVSU Athletics Director Wilson Gosier, “While we still want our followers to visit the primary athletics website for news and information about FVSU athletics, we recognize that the younger generation of fans rely more heavily on social media sites for their information. Twitter is just our first step in the social media area to meet our fans where they are.”
The FVSU Athletics Department Twitter page is: www.tiwtter.com/FVSUCATS. A link to the FVSU Twitter page is also available on the www.fvsusports.com. site.
